Automobile Shipping

Automobile shipping companies transport automobiles within the US (including Hawaii) and abroad.

Regulations for the shipping of cars are rigid. The registration of the automobile and all pertinent information including the vehicle identification number (VIN); license plates; measurements of the car; worth of the car, copies of the front and back of the auto's title; the name, address and phone number of the person shipping the auto; and the name address and phone number of the person receiving the automobile. The auto must be operable and gas as in the tank must be at minimal levels (no more than 1/4 tank for voyage to Hawaii and 1/2 tank for voyages abroad). Cars are kept under the ship's deck at all times while. Some shipping lines insure their transported vehicles for up to $10,000.00.

Shipped cars should be completely empty and the keys for operation must accompany the car. Customs regulations for cars being shipped overseas require an original title for the automobile as well as three copies of the front and back of the same title. If the owner of the vehicle has a loan on the vehicle, a statement of approval for transportation of the vehicle must be signed by the lender before shipping. Improper paperwork or lack of paperwork will put the car in storage and fees will be incurred until said paperwork is present. The same storage rules apply for cars failing to function; they will be put into storage until operable

Shipping without complication may take approximately 7 to 14 days. Fees may be based on measurement of vehicle and payment in full is usually expected upon shipment.
