Automobile Transport

An automobile transport company transports cars across country or to nearby countries, such as Canada or Mexico for the US. These companies provide a service to persons who are unable or unwilling to drive their vehicle to certain destinations.
There are questions that the potential automobile transport customer may want to clear up. The first order of business is usually the price based on what type of car is being transported and dates of departure and arrival. Cars may be delivered directly to the person's address or an automobile storage terminal. There are special transport services available, such as enclosed transportation of cars. Check with the transport company for details.
The second question is, does the transport company have damage insurance? This insurance should include theft and should be the primary insurance to cover any and all damages incurred. Check out how much the deductible is.
All negotiations with a transport company should be in the form of a contract. Any adjustments to an original contract should be in writing. Many automobile transport companies will not guarantee a pickup or delivery date for transport, but will provide a general window of pick up time. Some transport companies provide rental car clauses in the contract. It is wise to read automobile transport contracts carefully before signing the contract. Cancellations will result in a fee. The company will most likely provide the customer with an accurate delivery date once the car is picked up.
When leaving a car with any transport company, conduct an inspection of the automobile and obtain a report from the company, including information on the condition of the car previous to loading, mileage, and pick up and delivery details. This report should be referenced when accepting delivery of the transported vehicle.
When the car has been delivered it should be inspected while the transport driver is still present. Any discrepancies in reports should be noted and signed off. Accept the delivery of a transported vehicle only when inspection is possible.
