Charitable car donations help local and national charities raise considerable revenue for organizations in need of money. This type of fundraising is beneficial to the donation organization and to the donor, as it aids the donor in ridding him or herself of the unused vehicle. Car donations allow organizations to sell acquired vehicles for money that becomes the financial donation for a needy cause.

There are many organizations across the country that tow away automobiles free of charge whether they are in working condition, broken down, or not running at all. Even a malfunctioning auto it is worth selling. Most vehicles that are put up for auction successfully create revenue that is then given to the charity of choice as chosen by the donor. Automobiles, motorcycles, boats, trucks and trailers are all acceptable donations. Any vehicles will be towed away with the one exception of very old vehicles.

The Internal Revenue Service allows automobile donations to be 100% tax deductable and may be claimed for up to $500.00. If the vehicle donated is sold for more than $500.00 at auction, a receipt will be mailed so that proper paperwork for the IRS is be possible.
