BYD was founded by Wang Chuan Fu on 1995, and now it has become Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed industry group with 2 billion usds asset. byd’s development story began by manufacturing mould for Nissan USA, Land Rover and GMC. With the development of Chinese domestic car market, BYD expanded its territory into the car manufacturing. On September of 2005, BYD presented first car F3 to Chinese market and now the sales volume has accumulated to over one hundred thousand, which is a great success and also help BYD to gain enough capital to invest into the research of following models. This new developed F8 coupe/convertible features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 130 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. Manual and automatic transmission versions are to be produced. BYD projects a top speed of 112 mph and 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 14 seconds.BYD wants to begin selling the F8 next year, with prices starting at around $25000. One thing distinguishing BYD from other emerging Chinese car manufacturers is that BYD is also the world’s second biggest producer of rechargeable battery. BYD is committed to developing electrical power vehicle. It is not like Toyota and Honda’s hybrid power vehicle which still use petro.
