I see many abbreviations on the backs of vehicles, but when I ask my son or husband what they stand for, they usually cannot tell me. Is there any complete list anywhere with a definition of what the abbreviation stands for that I can look at?
Examples: SRT = Street Road Technology (according to my son)
But what does “LXT” stand for? I have seen others as well which is why I wondered if there is a list posted somewhere? I would like to be smarter than my son and husband about cars for once!
Thank you very much for your help.

I have a 1991 Ford Areostar which has been kept up oil changes, distributator cap, plugs, etc. I have had all this redone as it was not running right. It has turned over atleast 3 times as far as the odomoter. But, it still runs good when it runs. Right now it has had plugs, Distributator cap, oil change, etc. The motor shake a lot the screws have all been tighten on the bottom but, it still shakes and is idling fast. Will a timing light to change the timing on it help.
Thank you,
helen
