New Car Dealer

New car dealers have the advantage of being an approved reseller by the manufacturer. What this means for the customer is that they are potentially dealing with an organization that has more resources and desire to provide better service and could potentially be around longer than say a used card dealer.
What you might look for a new car dealer: How long has the existing store been owned by the existing owner. Not always a great idea to buy from a business or dealership that changes hands often. You want to make sure the dealership is in good standing with the manufacturer. In many cases you can find out the reputation of a dealership directly from the manufacturer. You will have to do some homework and phone number chasing, but some data could be useful if you are very concerned about where you buy and service your new car or truck.
In 1996 I spent sometime with a large automotive franchise in Boston Massachusetts. It was here that I learned the value of a salesperson that has been with a dealership for many years. When you are looking for your next new car or truck it is important to consider the sales person just as much as which dealership you choose. This sales person with the most experience is also very likely to provide you with the most clout when you need some help after he or she has sold you the vehicle. This, in my opinion, is far more important than the actual purchasing experience. I don't think many of us have had the luck of only returning to the dealership for routine maintenance.
